Players and coaches, who were part of the Bangladesh Tigers camp in Bogura, said they were satisfied with the camp after returning to Dhaka on Tuesday.
Bangladesh Tigers is a shadow team for the Bangladesh national team, and their first camp was held in Bogura with 23 players from February 25 to March 7.
After returning to Dhaka, the head coach of the camp, Mizanur Rahman Babul, said that the camp was a success.
“It has been a successful camp, and I hope that we can come back to Bogura for the next program because we enjoyed the facilities and the hospitality here,” he said.
Top-order batsman Soumya Sarkar said that he will miss Bogura.
“I will definitely miss Bogura. Especially for the practice facilities that we’ve been able to use here. Training on good wickets has helped me improve, and I look forward to the next program,” he said.
Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain believes this program will help the young players.
“Practice facilities in Bogura were very good. I think this program will not only help us to improve, but it will also benefit the young players,” he said.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Anamul Haque said that such a camp helped players out of the national team to stay in shape.
“The environment and the facilities have been great. I have learnt some new things and I hope that we’ll get to be part of more programs like this as it helps players outside the national team to train well and to improve,” Anamul explained.
Nazmul Islam Apu was hopeful of using his newly-learnt skills in the upcoming Dhaka Premier League.
“I have worked on my skill set and have made the most of these facilities. I hope to apply all my training in the Dhaka Premier League,” the left-arm spinner said.
The players will now join their respective DPL sides, with five from the squad going to South Africa with the national team. Those five are- Test captain Mominul Haque, Abu Jayed Chowdhury, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Shadman Islam, and Taijul Islam.
