Bangladeshi pacer Rubel Hossain has announced his retirement from Test cricket.

He made the statement through his verified Facebook page on Monday morning.

In the post, Rubel said, “I have been lucky enough to play 27 Test matches for Bangladesh.”

“However, I have the ability to give more to Bangladesh national team in ODI and T20 formats. So, I will continue playing DPL, BPL, and other white ball tournaments regularly,” he added.

Rubel last played in the colourful outfit during the New Zealand tour in March-April last year and last played in white in the Rawalpindi Test against Pakistan in February 2020. The 32-year-old pace bowler has not been seen in domestic first-class cricket since then.
