Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman has been fined Tk 50,000 for an incident in the Dhaka Premier League.
Sabbir allegedly threw racial slurs and a stone at Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club’s Elias Sunny, during a game between Sheikh Jamal and Prime Doleshwar at BKSP.
Sheikh Jamal filed a complaint to the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis regarding the incident.
The technical committee of CCDM held a hearing with Sabbir, Elias, Sheikh Jamal manager Sultan Mahmud and the match officials present.
After the hearing session was concluded, Sabbir and Sultan were fined Tk 50,000 each whilst Elias got a warning.
On the day of the incident, Sabbir had arrived at BKSP ahead of his team’s match against Partex Sporting Club, where Elias’ team was battling against Prime Doleshwar.
Elias was fielding at the boundary when Sabbir had allegedly thrown racial slurs and a stone at him.
