Bangladesh women’s football team skipper Sabina Khatun hit a new record on Tuesday as she scored her 50th goal for Basundhara Kings in their 3-0 victory over Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan Sporting Club.
Sabina scored a brace in their win as Basundhara maintained their perfect record of 11 wins in the league.
With 51 goals for Basundhara, Sabina adds a new feather to her crown along with most goals for Bangladesh, 250 career goals and more than 100 goals in the Premier League.
Sabina scored her 50th goal of the match when she brought her team the lead in the 22nd minute at the Sipahi Mostofa Kamal Stadium at Kamalapur.
Minutes later, she doubled Basundhara’s lead and Tahura’s goal in the dying minutes ensured their dominating win.
This keeps Basundhara at the top of the women’s Premier League table with 33 points from 11 games. Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan Sporting Club currently sit second with 27 points from the same number of matches.
Basundhara will face Cumilla United in their next game on July 15. A win in that match will ensure that Basundhara will defending their crown.
