Left-handed Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam has been ruled out of Dhaka Test against West Indies starting from February 11, a BCB press release confirmed on Wednesday morning.
After recovering from a finger injury, Shadman played the first game of the series in Chattogram and hit a fifty. But on day four of the same game, he sustained a blow on his hip which eventually forced him to stay out of the second Test.
“Shadman has been making a good recovery from the hip injury from an awkward fall while fielding on the day four of the first of the two ICC Test Championship matches. However, the BCB medical team has suggested resting him for the second Test until he is fully fit to resume playing,” the BCB release reads.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh are gearing up to make a comeback in the series as they lost the first game by three wickets thanks to a record-breaking double-ton by the West Indian debutant Kyle Mayers.
