Bangladesh Test and Twenty20 International skipper Shakib Al Hasan was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Oil Bangladesh for a day on Wednesday.
Shakib has been the brand ambassador of Gulf Oil Bangladesh since 2019.
“Shakib attended multiple meetings as the CEO and took some critical decisions during the day, he further encouraged stakeholders and partners to bolster the brand positioning and establish Gulf Oil’s global legacy,” a press release from Gulf Oil Bangladesh read.
About his experience, Shakib said, “I always wanted to understand how a corporate CEO works & how MNC business is managed. The moment, I got the opportunity I said yes. There is a lot that goes into building a business and taking it to heights.
“As a key decision maker for the business & brand, a lot rides on the CEO’s shoulder, and carrying this role did not seem easy at all. But it was an unforgettable experience and I am taking a lot of learning that I will use on and off the field in future.”
Shakib is currently preparing for the upcoming ninth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, where he will captain Fortune Barishal, the runners-up from the last edition.
