Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan reached 300 wickets in One-Day Internationals on Monday as he produced a player-of-the-match performance to lead the Tigers to a 50-run win over England.
Shakib picked up four wickets in the day to become the 14th bowler to reach the landmark in history and he is currently the only active bowler to have that many wickets in ODIs.
He has also become the third cricketer to achieve the double of 6,000 runs and 300 wickets after Sanath Jayasuriya and Shahid Afridi. Shakib reached the milestone faster than those two.
Young English leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed was Shakib’s 300th victim in ODIs, and the three wickets prior to him were of Phil Salt, Jason Roy, and James Vince.
The Bangladesh all-rounder also contributed with the bat in the match as he notched up 75 runs off 71 balls, which took only 24 runs away from 7,000 runs in ODIs.
