Shakib Al Hasan was brought to the Indian Premier League’s player auction again on Sunday but in the second round, he failed to fetch any bid from the franchises.
So, there is no IPL for Shakib in this year as there were no takers for him. As the ongoing auction is the mega one where the franchises will buy players for three seasons, it means no franchise is interested to secure the allrounder's service for the next three years.
In 2023 and 2024, if the auction takes place Shakib might place his name and the situation might change but at present his IPL dream is over.
At the closing end of a two-day long auction, the franchises sent a list of previous players who were brought back under the hammers.
David Miller, Sam Billings, Matthew Wade, and Wriddhiman Saha got themselves a deal in the second call but Shakib failed to earn so.
Billings was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders, Saha and Miller were bought by Gujrat Titans.
Chennai Super Kings got Sri Lankan mystery spinner Maheesh Theeshana for INR 70,00,000.
Mumbai Indians picked Jofra Archer for INR 8,00,00,000 even after knowing that he will not be available in this season.
