Shakib Al Hasan is going to play in the Sri Lankan Premier League for the first time as he has already signed up for the franchise Galle Gladiators and the contract has been signed under a direct contract as per Sri Lankan media reports.
Shakib, Liton Das, and Afif Hossain were the only three players from Bangladesh to be named for the draft of the tournament.
The franchise league will have five teams participating this season and the teams will have to recruit their players from the auction to be held in June 11, but the teams are open to directly sign players before the auction.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has signed for Colombo Strikers while South African superstar David Miller will play for the Jaffna Kings. Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been signed by Kendy Falcons.
