Mohammedan Sporting Club announced star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as its captain for the Dhaka Premier League Twenty20 tournament 2021, scheduled to start on May 31.
The club also announced its squad and unveiled its jersey at a programme held on Saturday, maintaining the Covid-19 health rules, in presence of the Mohammedan officials, including its director and cricket committee chairman Masuduzzaman.
“This team has the quality to meet the expectations of supporters,” Shakib Al Hasan told the event. He said that he was optimistic to clinch the title if his team give its the best performance.
On May 31, Mohammedan will take on Shinepukur Cricket Club at BKSP while Abahani Ltd will lock horn with Partex Sporting Club at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Four other matches -- Legends of Rupgonj vs Old DOHS Sports Club, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club vs Brothers Union, Lt Sk Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd vs Khelaghar Samaj Kallayan Samity and Prime Bank Cricket Club vs Gazi Group Cricketers—will be held on the opening day.
