Sheraton Legends won the Unique Group Men’s Champions Trophy on Saturday downing Hansa Jinia by nine wickets in the final in Banani, while Power Puff Girls emerged as the champions in the women’s category.
The managing director of Unique Group Mohd Noor Ali was present at the venue to enjoy the finals of both the men’s and women’s categories. He was delighted with the festive environment the tournament had set. He said, “Sports help the growth of mindset,” while wishing the best for the participants.
12 teams participated in the men’s category of the tournament which had started in November.
In the men’s category final, Hansa won the toss and opted to bat first where they set a target of 147 ahead of Sheraton.
In reply, Sheraton chased down the target with nine wickets in hand depending on Tanjil’s brilliant 91, which was also the highest for his side.
Sheraton’s Tanjil was the highest run-scorer of the tournament scoring a total of 204 runs throughout the tournament while Mamun was the most wicket taker as he took 10 wickets.
However, Hansa Genius’ Iftikhar was named the player of the tournament.
The tournament, organized by Unique Group, had been supported by Noor Ali Family Trust from the beginning of the event, and Unique Hotel and Resort (PLC) was the title sponsor of the tournament.
The CEO of Unique Group, Syed Sanwarul Haque, the CEO of Unique Hotel and Resorts, Shakhawat Hossain, the Senior GM (HR & Admin) of Unique, Major Nasimul Haque, and the Director of Accounts and Finance, Riyad Hossain were present at the venue.
Jone Kumar Gupta, the CFO of Unique Hotel and Resorts, and the General Manager Stephane Masse were also present at the venue to enjoy the finals of the tournament.
The Chairman of the Shaheed Zayan Chowdhury Playground Committee, Adil, the commentator of the tournament, Md Jashimuddin, and the title sponsor, Noor Ali Family Trust, each received a special award.
