Fortune Barishal wicketkeeper Nurul Hassan Sohan has been fined 20 per cent of his match fees for a Level 1 breach of the BCB Code of Conduct during the team’s Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League T20 match against Sylhet Sunrisers.

Sohan was penalised for showing dissent at an umpiring decision during the match held at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday and was in breach of Article 2.4 of the BCB Code of Conduct for Players, said a media release of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

One demerit point has been added to his disciplinary record.

On-field umpires Tanvir Ahmed and Mozahiduzzaman Swapan, third umpire Masudur Rahman Mukul and fourth official Ali Arman Rajon levelled the charge.

As the wicketkeeper admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Match Referee ASM Roquibul Hassan, there was no need for a formal hearing, it added.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.
