Nurul Hasan Sohan will lead the Bangladesh national team in the upcoming three-match Twenty20 International series against Zimbabwe later this month, the Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed.
Both Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim were rested from the shortest format, and Shakib Al Hasan will not play as he is on leave.
Both Mahmudullah and Mushfiq have been picked for the three-match One-Day International series following the T20I series.
There were rumours about Mahmudullah being axed from captaincy permanently, but that did not happen as BCB officials refused to say that Mahmudullah’s exclusion was permanent.
BCB called up Parvez Hossain Emon in the T20 squad for the first time, while pacer Hasan Mahmud has been called back for both formats.
