Comilla Victorians struggled to chase 96 runs posted by Sylhet Sunrisers but finally, they managed to win by two wickets with only eight balls to spare.
Comilla won the toss and sent Sylhet to bat first under overcast conditions. Sunrisers made a shaky start and could not overcome it
Sylhet Sunrisers were all-out for only 96 runs against Comilla Victorians in their first match of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League T20 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday.
Colin Ingram was the top-scorer with 20 runs, the second-highest runs came from extra, which was 19.
Sylhet were all-out for 96 runs in 19.1 overs, Nahidul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Shohidul Islam; all bagged two wickets each.
.In reply, Comilla also struggled as they lost Faf Du Plessis for only two runs as the protea batsman gave a return catch to Sohag Gazi.
Sunrisers kept taking wickets at a regular interval, Nazmul Islam, Mosaddek Hossain and Sohag Gazi fought hard but the score was too little to defend.
Comilla scored 97-8 in 18.4 overs and secured their first win in BBPL T20 2022.
