Sylhet Strikers pocketed a commanding six-wicket win against Khulna Tigers to ensure their place in the top two of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.
This win takes them to 18 points from 12 matches, a tally that cannot be surpassed by any of the other three teams.
Batting first, Khulna could only manage a lowly 113-8 as only three batters could go into double figures- Mahmudul Hasan Joy (41), Yasir Ali Chowdhury (12), and Nahidul Islam (22).
For Sylhet, Tanzim Hasan Sakib picked up three wickets alongside the economical Imad Wasim, who picked up two wickets for just 10 runs in his four overs.
Rubel Hossain also picked up a couple, with Mohammad Amir picking up the other.
In reply, Sylhet lost their star batters of the tournament, Towhid Hridoy (5) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (3) early, but a 90-run stand between Zakir Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim took them to the brink of victory.
Zakir was dismissed after 50 and Mushfiq was run out on 39, but Ryan Burl and Gulbadin Naib took them home with 15 balls in hand.
