Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed will miss their upcoming one-off Test against Ireland, starting Tuesday, due to a side strain.
Youngster Rejaur Rahman Raja has been called up in his place.
Taskin, following his Player of the Series performance against Ireland in the Twenty20 Internationals, was absent from the Bangladesh training on Monday.
Later, the Bangladesh Cricket Board revealed that the pacer would be out for four weeks due to his injury.
“Taskin underwent an MRI today which confirmed that he has a left side strain (grade 2). Such injuries take about four weeks to recover from. This unfortunately means that he will not be available for the Test against Ireland,” Bangladesh National Team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said.
