Fans to return in the Tiger’s den after 618 days as the Bangladesh Cricket Board has opened the doors to the gallery for the Pakistan Series.

In a media release, the BCB said that they will allow spectators in the stadium but only those adults who are vaccinated.

The last international cricket match in Bangladesh where spectators could attend was the second Twenty20 match of the two-match series against Zimbabwe that took place on March 11 2020.

Since then, the covid-19 outbreak and the bio-secure protocol barred the BCB to allow spectators in the field.

But as the covid situation of the country has improved and the ICC T20 World Cup set an example of “Managed Environment Event”, the BCB is allowing double vaccinated adults inside the stadium to enjoy the matches of the Bangladesh-Pakistan series.

Shoaib Ali, an iconic fan of Bangladesh Cricket who could be easily spotted in the crowd for his tiger-like body paint expressed his sigh of relief to The Business Post as he does not have to climb to the rooftops of nearby buildings anymore.

“I was hearing about allowing spectators from Pakistan series and finally it is happening. Now I can watch the players in action once again, and from close quarters! I don’t have to climb to a rooftop anymore,” he said.

According to the BCB media release, tickets for the Bangladesh-Pakistan series will be available from Thursday at the ticket selling booth of Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium, Mirpur.

Booth opens at 09h00. Tickets will be sold until 18h00 subject to availability.
