Bangladesh managed to nick off four English wickets early, keeping themselves in the game despite their small total of 209.
England are on 77-4 after 20 overs, still requiring 133 runs to win and take a 1-0 lead.
The Tigers bowlers sent back Jason Roy, Phil Salt, James Vince, and Jos Buttler, with Dawid Malan and Will Jacks at the crease. Taijul Islam has picked up a couple with Shakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed picking up one each.
After Bangladesh were bowled out for 209, England came out and were trialled by spin as Shakib took up the ball. And there was immediate effect as Roy (4) tried to step down and hit him out of the ground, but only managed a top edge which Tamim Iqbal took with ease at mid-on.
Salt (12) and Malan then looked like they were going to see off the first powerplay but the former tried to cut Taijul off the backfoot and saw his stumps shattered.
Vince (6) walked in and played a gorgeous lofted drive over extra cover but it ended up once too many as he was stumped off Taijul when he tried to step out and do it again.
That wicket brought the big fish of the English side, skipper Buttler (9), to the crease but an inspired bowling change from his counterpart, which saw Taskin back in the attack, ended his short stay at the wicket as he edged one to Najmul Hossain Shanto at first slip.
Earlier, Bangladesh were bowled out for 209 as Najmul top-scored with 58, while Mahmudullah Riyad scored 31 but it was Taskin Ahmed’s 14 and Taijul Islam’s 10 that took them beyond 200.
For England, Jofra Archer, Moeen Ali, Mark Wood, and Adil Rashid picked up two wickets each.
