The second one-day international cricket match between Bangladesh and Ireland at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet was abandoned after the first innings due to rain.
Batting first, Bangladesh scored 349-6, their highest ODI total in history thanks to Mushfiqur Rahim’s record century for the country. He scored the fastest ODI hundred for Bangladesh playing only 60 balls.
With the century, Mushfiq became the third Bangladeshi player to reach 7000 runs milestone after Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan.
After the skipper, Tamim was dismissed early, Liton Das and Najmul Shanto gave the hosts a proper foundation to build innings. Liton scored 70 and Shanto scored 73. Towhid Hridoy played a cameo of 49 in the later part of their innings.
After 50 overs of play, rain struck the field and the match was abandoned without a ball being played in the second innings.
Bangladesh won the first ODI on Saturday and lead the three-match ODI 1-0.
