Bangladesh thrashed Ireland by 10 wickets in the third and final One-Day International of the three-match series to take the series 2-0 after the second match was abandoned due to rain.

Hasan Mahmud’s maiden five-for in international cricket saw Ireland bowled out for just 101. He was aided by Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury, who picked up three and two wickets respectively to completely drown the Irish.

In reply, the Irish bowlers had no reply to Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das coming all guns blazing as the duo stayed unbeaten and reached the target in just 13.1 overs with all wickets intact.

Liton stayed unbeaten on 50 off 38 balls while Tamim Iqbal scored an unbeaten run-a-ball 41.

This is Bangladesh’s biggest win in terms of wickets as they had never won a match by the margin of 10 wickets.

Earlier, Ireland were hit early after opting to bat first as Hasan dismissed Stephen Doheny (8) in the fourth over, before nipping the ball back to get rid of Paul Stirling (7) and Harry Tector (0) in the ninth over.

In the next over, Taskin picked up his first as Ireland skipper Andrew Balbirnie edged one to Najmul Hossain Shanto at first slip.

From there, Lorcan Tucker (28) and Curtis Campher (36) put together a 42-run stand that showed some hope to Ireland.

However, that was crushed when Ebadot produced a toe-crushing yorker to trap Tucker LBW before sending George Dockrell’s (0) stumps cartwheeling in the next ball.

Taskin then got rid of Andy McBrine (1) and Mark Adair (0) in the same over to see Ireland eight-down before Hasan came back and got rid of Campher, who was the top-scorer for Ireland.

Hasan then finished proceedings as he trapped Graham Hume (3) LBW to pick up his first five-for in ODIs.

This is the first time Bangladesh pacers have taken all 10 wickets in a match.
