Bangladesh women's U19 team beat Australia by seven wickets in their group-stage clash to start their Women's U19 World Cup 2023 at Willowmoore Park in Benoni, South Africa.
Winning the toss, Australian skipper Rhys Mckenna decided to bat first. They put a total of 130-5, credit to Claire Moore’s 52. Coming to chase, Bangladesh reached the target with seven wickets and 12 balls to spare depending on wicket-keeping batter Dilara Akter’s 42 and Sumaiya Akter’s quick 31.
With the ball, Bangladesh skipper Disha Biswas and Marufa Akter bagged two wickets each. Rabeya Khan took the other wicket.
