Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Bangladesh Ansar & VDP team retained the men's and women's titles of the Victory Day Handball Tournament'2022 eliminating their rivals in the finals at the Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium here on Thursday.

Former Rajuk chairman and former vice president of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) Abdur Rahman witnessed the day's final as the chief guest and later he distributed the trophies at the closing function, chaired by BHF general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor.

Border Guard Bangladesh clinched the men's crown for the 5th time, four-time in a row, beating their traditional rivals Bangladesh Ansar & VDP team by 32-26 goal in the final Thursday afternoon. The match was locked in 12-12 goal in the first half.

Taju Islam of the BGB scored the match highest 15 goals and was adjudged the best men's player of the tournament.

In the women's section, Bangladesh Ansar & VDP team clinched the title for the 3rd time in a row beating Badalgachi Handball Association by 27-14 goal in the day's final after dominating the first half by 19-6 goal.

Alphana of the Ansar & VDP scored highest eight goals in the final.

However, Rubina of the Police team was adjudged the best female player of the meet.
