Both the men's and women's s group finals of Victory Day Handball competition (men's and women's) will be held on Thursday at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) take on Bangladesh Ansar and VDP in the men's group final at 3pm, following the women's group final match between Bangladesh Ansar and VDP and Badalgachhi Handball Association that begins at 1pm.
Abdur Rahman, former chairman of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha and former vice president of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) will be the chief guest in the finals and distribute the prizes.
BHF's general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor will preside over the closing and prize distribution ceremony.
Meanwhile, in the day's men's group matches, Bangladesh Police Handball Club beat Team Handball Dhaka by 36-23 goals after leading the first half by 19-4 goals while BGB defeated Bangladesh Ansar and VDP by 32-26 goals after dominating the first half by 17-8 goals.
In the day's women's group matches, Badalgachhi Handball Association defeated Bangladesh Police Handball Club by 21-17 goals after leading the first half by 12-10 goals while Bangladesh Ansar and VDP outclassed Jamalpur Sports Academy by 30-10 goals after leading the first half by 15-4 goals.
A total of eight teams - four of men's and equal number of women's teams - are participating in the four-day competition which is being held marking the Victory Day.
