Ambee Pharma’s earings fall 60%

Pharma sector’s company Ambee Pharma made profit losses for the third quarter of FY21, despite the demand of medicine during ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

According to a company disclosure posted on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) website, for January-March FY21, the pharma company gained Tk 7.20 lakh profit, which was 60 per cent lower in the same period of the previous financial year. In January-March of the FY20, company’s profit was Tk 18 lakh.

For the Q3 of FY21, Ambee Pharma’s earning per share was Tk 0.30, which was Tk 0.75 of the same period of previous financial year. On the other hand, the EPS was Tk 0.65 for July-March FY21 as against Tk 2.38 for same period of FY20.

Company’s net operating cash flow per share was Tk 3.89 for July-March FY21 as against Tk 0.09 for the same period of FY20 while its net asset value per share was Tk 23.25 as on March 31, 2021 against Tk 24.10 as on June 30, 2020.

Aziz Mohammad Bhai, who is renowned in the country’s film industry, is the chairman of the company. His wife Naureen Aziz Mohammad Bhai is the managing director of Ambee Pharma.

The A category company gave 15 per cent cash dividend for last year. It has given cash dividend regularly since 2016.

The share price of the company declined 1.75 per cent on Wednesday to Tk 454. During the last one year, the share price fluctuated from Tk 380 to Tk 549.
