BNICL and Asia Insurance’s profit soars in Q2

Two publicly traded insurance company--Bangladesh National Insurance and Asia Insurance’s earnings per share rose in the second quarter (April-June) of this year compared to the same period of the previous year.

The second quarter earnings of Bangladesh National Insurance rose by 442 per cent. The disclosure was made by the DSE website on Wednesday.

BNICL said that its earnings per share was Tk 1.03 for the Q2 of 2021 as against Tk 0.19 for the same period of the previous financial year and EPS was Tk 2.04 for January-June 2021 as against Tk 0.75 for the same period of the last year.

The company’s net asset value per share stood at Tk 20.85 as of June 30, 2021 against Tk 20.17 as of December 31, 2020.

On the other hand, in the second quarter, Asia Insurance’s EPS rose by 72 per cent.
