Bangladesh Investment Summit begins today in London

Bangladesh Investment Summit begins today in London aiming at attracting foreign investment.

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) is organizing the summit titled ‘Bangladesh Investment Summit 2021: Building Growth Partnership’.

As part of the event, a BSEC team met with Morgan Stanley and offered investment opportunities in fixed income securities, capital market instruments, infrastructure, power, energy and other sectors.

The two-day roadshow will be held in London today and in Manchester on Sunday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the roadshow.

The inaugural function will be attended by Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser to Prime Minister Salman Fazlur Rahman, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, and BSEC Chairman Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Md Sirazul Islam, Bangladesh Export Processing Area Authority (BEPZA) Executive Chairman Major General Md Nazrul Islam and Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Saida Muna Tasnim.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir and NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem are also expected to attend the event.

Several institutional and individual investors and stakeholders in London will attend the event.

In the inaugural session of the summit, a panel discussion will be held on ‘Investment for Sustainable Growth’.

Nina Dos Santos, Editor, CNN Europe will moderate the session to be participated by policymakers from Bangladesh and business leaders from the UK.
