Strategic Communication Laboratories (SCL), a prominent behavioural research and strategic communication company of the United Kingdom, will vend various data published by the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) globally.

The DSE signed a business agreement with the British firm on Monday, in an effort to take the country’s premiere bourse to world stage.

DSE Managing Director Tarique Amin Bhuiyan and his SCL counterpart Selloua Chakri inked the deal, in presence of BSEC Chairman Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam.

Among others, DSE Chairman Md Yunusur Rahman, Director Md Shakil Rizvi, General Manager Mohammad Asadur Rahman, Deputy General Manager Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan, and Assistant General Manager Md Shahadat Hossain attended the signing ceremony.

The SCL came to prominence through the Facebook–Cambridge Analytica data scandal involving its subsidiaries Cambridge Analytica and Crow Business Solutions MENA.

Founded in 1990, SCL began targeting elections in developing countries in early 1990s, and has engaged in psychological warfare in military contexts as a contractor for the American and British militaries during the Afghanistan War and the Iraq War.

In 2013, it established the subsidiary Cambridge Analytica that worked on the Ted Cruz and Donald Trump campaigns during the 2016 US presidential election.
