Tamha Securities’ operations suspended

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has suspended operations of Tamha Securities Ltd due to the false information found in the audit report.

Trading of the brokerage has been suspended in the “greater interest of investors after an “audit mismatching” was found, said the DSE on its website on Thursday.

The prime bourse has asked the clients of the brokerage firm to transfer their shares through the link BO accounts by submitting necessary documents to the DSE.

In June this year, the DSE had suspended trading of Banco Securities Ltd for the similar offence. It found a discrepancy of around Tk 66 crore in the audit report.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against five directors including the chairman of the brokerage firm for the fund embezzlement.

In June last year, the DSE suspended Crest Securities for the same offence. The owners of the brokerage firm embezzled Tk 28 crore. Later, a court sent its Managing Director Md Shohidullah and his wife Nipa Sultana to jail after a case filed by the DSE.
