BMBA gets new committee

Imperial Capital Chairman Md Sayadur Rahman and BMSL Investment Managing Director Md Riyad Matin have been re-elected respectively president and secretary general of Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA).

They will serve the organisation for the second consecutive year, said a press release on Saturday.

Md A Hafeez, the chief election commissioner of the election, announced the result after daylong voting on the day.

Other office bearers are – ICB Capital Management CEO Asit Kumar Chakraborty, first vice-president; IDLC Investment MD Moniruzzaman CFA, second vice president; and Islami Bank Capital Management MD Abdur Rahim, treasurer.

The executive members of the newly elected committee are - Muhammad Nazrul Islam, MD and CEO of Sandhani Life Finance; Md Obaidur Rahman, MD and CEO of AAA Finance; Mahbub Hossain Majumder, CEO of AFC Capital; Abu Bakar, MD of Southeast Bank Capital Services; Hamdul Islam, MD and CEO of Banco Finance and Investment; Nur Ahmed, MD and CEO of Alpha Capital Management; and Mir Mahfuzur Rahman, director of Asian Tigers Capital Partners Investment Limited.
