Reckitt Benckiser declares 1650% dividend, Linde Bangladesh 550%

Reckitt Benckiser (Bangladesh) and Linde Bangladesh, two publicly traded multinational companies, have declared their all-time-high cash dividends for the year 2021, sitting on increased earnings.

In their board meetings on Thursday, Reckitt Benckiser recommended 1650 per cent or Tk 165 per share cash dividend to its shareholders for the year while Linde Bangladesh declared 550 per cent cash dividend.

These are the all-time-high figures since the listing of the multinational companies on stock exchanges.

The earnings per share (EPS) of Reckitt Benckiser increased 10 per cent to Tk 171.03 in the year ended on December 31, 2021, which was Tk 156.38 in the previous year. Its net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) also jumped to Tk 290.57 in 2021, from Tk 134.90 in 2020.

The hygiene product manufacturing company had declared 1400 per cent cash dividend for the previous year.

It will hold an annual general meeting (AGM) on April 27 to approve the latest dividend.

Meanwhile, commercial oxygen producer Linde Bangladesh declared 550 per cent cash dividend or Tk 55 per share for the year 2021. It will hold an AGM on May 12 for shareholders’ approval to the payout while the record date has been set as March 31.

The company’s earnings increased over 14 per cent in 2021 as its EPS rose Tk 80.55 in 2021, from Tk 70.55 recorded in the previous year.
