Samata Leather Q1 earnings dip further

Samata Leather Complex Ltd reported a further fall in their earnings in the first quarter (Q1) of the last fiscal year.

The company’s earnings-per-share was negative Tk 0.02 for the July-September period of FY21 from negative Tk 0.03 in the same period a year ago, it said in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Sunday.

However, the company’s net operating cash flow dropped to negative Tk 0.07 from positive Tk 0.17 during the period.

On Sunday, Samata Leather Complex’s share rose 1.5 per cent to Tk 46.60 on the DSE.

The company distributed 0.50 per cent cash dividend to the shareholders for the financial year ended on June 30, 2020.

Its net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk 14.34 as of September 30, 2021, and Tk 14.39 as of June 30, 2021.

Of the company’s total stake, its sponsor-director holds 33.86 per cent, institute 4.86 per cent, public 61.28 per cent as of January 31, 2022, according to the DSE.
