Shameem elected VCPEAB president

Shameem Ahsan, the general partner at Pegasus Tech Ventures, has been elected as the president of the Venture Capital and Private Equity Association of Bangladesh (VCPEAB) for the term 2022-24.

VIPB Asset Management Company Limited Chairman Zia U Ahmed has been elected senior vice president, SEAF Bangladesh Ventures LLC Managing Director Asif Mahmood and BD Venture Limited Managing Director Shafique-Ul-Azam as vice presidents, according to a statement.

The newly elected executive committee for 2022-2024 was announced by the Chairman of the Election Commission, Aftab Ul Islam, Former Chairman of BD Venture Ltd and Board Director of Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday.

Shameem also served as President of the Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS). He is the co-author of Startup Kingdom and Managing Director of eGeneration Limited.

The other newly elected board directors are Velocity Asia Ltd Managing Director Shawkat Hossain, SBK Tech Venture Sonia Bashir Kabir Managing Director, Constellation Asset Management Company Ltd Chief Investment Officer Tanveer Ali, Managing Director & CEO Alliance Capital Asset Management Limited KH Asadul Islam, IDLC Asset Management Limited General Manager Javed Noor.
