Takaful Islami Insurance declares 11% dividend

Takaful Islami Insurance has declared an 11 per cent dividend for its shareholders for 2021.

Its board recommended full cash dividends for the year ended December 31, 2021, said the company in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

To approve the recommended dividend, the company will arrange a virtual annual general meeting on July 23 and set May 31 as record date for the entitlement of shares.

The company has also reported earnings per share of Tk 2.25, net asset value per share of Tk 19.15 and net operating cash flow per share of Tk 3.13 for the year ended on December 31, 2021 as against Tk 1.65, Tk 17.97 and Tk 2.94 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

In 2020, the company disbursed 10 per cent cash dividends.

Takaful Islami Insurance Company, which was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2008, closed at Tk 64 on Wednesday at the Dhaka Stock Exchange.

The company’s paid-up capital is Tk 42 crore and authorised capital is Tk 100 crore while the total number of securities is 4 crore.

The sponsor-directors own 50.34 per cent stake in the company, while the institutional investors 14.87 per cent, foreign 0.07 per cent and the general public own 34.72 per cent as on March, 22, the DSE data shows.
