Continental declares all-time-high Cash dividend

Publicly traded insurance company Continental Insurance has declared its all-time-high cash dividends for the year 2021, sitting on increased earnings.

On its board meetings on Monday, Continental insurance recommended 12 per cent or Tk 1.2 per share cash dividend to its shareholders for the year, the company said in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Tuesday.

These are the all-time-high figures since the listing on stock exchanges.

The earnings per share (EPS) of Continental insurance increased 21 per cent to Tk 1.51 in the year ended on December 31, 2021, which was Tk 1.24 in the previous year. Its net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) also jumped to Tk 2.07 in 2021, from Tk 1.11 in 2020.

It will hold an annual general meeting (AGM) on June 20 to approve the latest dividend, while the record date has been set as May 24.

Continental Insurance got listed with the capital market in 2008.
