RAK Ceramics resumes production after 15 days

RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh) resumed production on Monday after a 15-day suspension due to routine maintenance at its power plant.

It suspended the production from May 14 to May 29, 2022, due to the maintenance of the RAK power plant, said the company in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Monday.

Earlier, it said due to routine servicing and maintenance of the power plant of RAK Power Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary and power supplier of RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh) Limited, the power supply to the production lines will be stopped for a few days.

Tiles plants of RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh) Limited also went under maintenance work.

RAK Ceramics has a sanitary ware line with an annual capacity of 50 lakh pieces.

During the maintenance period, sanitary ware production continued with 60 per cent to 70 per cent of its capacity.

On Monday, RAK Ceramics share price fell 0.69 per cent to Tk 43.40 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.

RAK Ceramics engages in the manufacture and marketing of ceramics tiles, bathroom sets, and all types of sanitary ware.

It operates through the segments--ceramics and sanitary ware, power and security and services.

The ceramics and sanitary ware segment manufactures and markets ceramics tiles, bathroom sets, and all types of sanitary ware.

The power segment sets up power utilities and operates power-generating plants, transmission systems, and distribution systems and sells the generated electric power to any legal entity.

The security and services segment provides security guarding, cleaning services, termite and pest control services, and manpower technical training.
