Ten companies grab 22.67% of weekly turnover

The ten most-traded stocks accounted for 22.67 per cent of transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) this week, with Bangladesh Export Import Company (Beximco) leading the turnover chart.

The companies contribution ranged between 1.30 per cent and 4.0 per cent in total market turnover.

Beximco group and Shinepukur Ceramics have been dominating the market turnover chart for the past few weeks.

According to the DSE data, some 1.17 crore of Beximco shares were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 154 crore, which was 4 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

The company’s share closed at Tk 129.8 on Thursday, dropped 3.71 per cent over the week before.

Shinepukur Ceramics came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 2.84 crore changing hands. The company’s share price gained 3.19 per cent to close at Tk 51.08 on Thursday, which was 3.86 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

Fu-Wang Foods secured the third place with 3.08 per cent of the week’s total turnover. Its turnover stood at Tk 22.5 crore. Its share closed at Tk 25, gaining 3.48 per cent over the previous week.

Anwar Galvanizing Limited had a turnover of Tk 108 crore. The company’s share closed at Tk 423.9, gained 0.83 per cent over the week before. The company was 2.82 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

Orion Pharma Limited shares worth Tk65.83 crore changing hands. The company’s share closed at Tk 88 on Thursday, losses 1.90 per cent over the previous week, which was 1.71 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

Salvo Chemical Industry Limited notched the sixth spot, with shares worth Tk 59.2 crore changing hands. The state-run corporation’s share rose 3.82 per cent to close at Tk 67.9, which was 1.54 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

The turnover of Square Pharmaceuticals Limited was Tk 57.9 crore and total turnover of the week was 1.50 per cent. The company’s share price advanced 0.79 per cent to close at Tk 217.6 on Thursday.

JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing Limited also made its way to the week’s top turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 57.4 crore changing hands. The company’s share fell 2.29 per cent to close at Tk 82.1 on Thursday. Total turnover of the company the week’s was 1.49 per cent.

Bangladesh Finance Limited and Bangladesh Shipping Corporation are also in the list of the week’s top turnover chart, which contributed 1.37 and 1.30 per cent respectively in the total turnover.
