Rupali Life Insurance offers 18% cash dividend

Rupali Life Insurance Company Limited has recommended an 18 per cent cash dividend for its shareholders for 2021.

The dividend was declared at the company’s board meeting on Wednesday, said the company in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday.

To secure approval of the declared dividend, an audited report, and other matters, the company will hold an annual general meeting (AGM) via digital platform on September 18. The record date for the AGM is August 17.

There was no price limit on the trading of the shares of the company on Thursday following its corporate declaration.

The insurance company’s life revenue account increase in January-March, 2022 was Tk 1.53 crore with a total life insurance fund of Tk 529 crore as against an increase in life revenue account of Tk 1.22 crore and Tk 506 crore respectively for the same period of the previous year.

The increase in life revenue account for April-June, 2022 was Tk 3.52 million with a total life insurance fund of Tk 5,303.40 million as against an increase of Tk 5.51 million and Tk 5,068.83 million respectively for the same period of the previous year.

The increase in life revenue account for Jan-June, 2022 was Tk 18.89 million with total life insurance fund of Tk 5,303.40 million as against Tk 17.75 million and Tk 5,068.83 million respectively for the same period of the previous year.

Rupali Life Insurance paid a 15 per cent dividend (13 per cent cash and 2 per cent stock) to its shareholders for the period from January to December 2020.
