BSEC donates Tk 5cr to PM’s Relief Fund

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has donated Tk 5 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to help the people of the flood-hit area to ease their sufferings.

BSEC Chairman Professor Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam handed over the donation check to the Prime Minister at a function organized at the Prime Minister’s office on Wednesday. BSEC Commissioner Sheikh Shamsuddin Ahmed and Commissioner Mr. Abdul Halim were also present at this time.

The grant is from Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission’s Social Responsibility (CSR) Fund. At this time Prime Minister had a constructive discussion on the capital market at the top level officials of BSEC. Chairman of BSEC informed the overall condition of the capital market at this time to PM.

Besides, he seeks her direction to implement various plans taken by BSEC for the development of the market. Prime Minister listened to the views of the commission with interest and assured of providing all-out cooperation in a bid to ensure the development of the capital market.
