Top 10 companies grab 23.94% turnover

The ten most-traded stocks accounted for 23.94 per cent of transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) this week with Bangladesh Export Import Company (Beximco) leading the turnover chart.

Beximco Group companies, especially Beximco and Shinepukur Ceramics, have been top ten companies leading the market turnover chart for the past few weeks.

According to the DSE data, some 1.67 crore Beximco shares were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 194 crore, which was 6.12 per cent of the week’s total turnover. Matin Spinning Mills Limited came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 95.15 crore changing hands. The company’s turnover rose 10.85 per cent from the previous week and 3 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

KDS Accessories Limited contributed 2.98 per cent of the week’s total turnover. Its turnover was Tk 94.57 crore. Its turnover rose 3.49 per cent from the previous week. Fortune Shoes Limited secured the fourth spot with 2.06 per cent of the week’s total turnover. Its turnover was of Tk 65.40 crore.

IPDC Finance Limited notched the 5th place on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 60.54 crore changing hands. The company’s turnover drop 5.04 per cent from the previous week and 1.91 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

Sonali Paper & Board Mills Limited posted 1.85 per cent of the week’s total turnover. Its turnover was of Tk 58.68 crore and turnover dropped 6.41 per cent over the previous week.

Orion Infusion Ltd shares worth Tk53.10 crore changing hands and 1.68 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

Kattali Textile Limited shares worth Tk52.26 crore changing hands. The company’s share closed at Tk 24.50 on Thursday which was 1.65 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

Square Textiles Limited came ninth on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 43.57 crore changing hands. The company’s share fell 1.84 per cent to close at Tk 69.20 on Thursday. Total turnover of the company the week’s was 1.37 per cent.

Shinepukur Ceramics came ten on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 41.16 crore changing hands. The company’s share price loses 0.80 per cent to close at Tk 41.90 on Thursday, which was 1.30 per cent of the week’s total turnover.
