Merchant bankers have agreed to make fresh investments at least 10 per cent from their own portfolios to help stabilise the stock market.
The Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA) took the investment decision after a meeting with the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on Monday.
BSEC Commissioner Shaikh Shamsuddin Ahmed chaired the meeting attended by BMBA President Sayedur Rahman. Initiatives to increase investment in the capital market also came into the discussion.
