Janata insurance reports positive earnings in Q2

Janata Insurance Company has posted a 6.12 per cent rise in its earnings for the second quarter.

Its earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk 0.52 in April-June period from Tk 0.49 recorded in the same period a year ago, the company said in a news filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Sunday.

Its consolidated net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was Tk 1.11 from January-June 2022. It was positive Tk 1.77 in the same period of the previous year.

Its net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk 15.32 as on June 30, 2022 and Tk 14.41 as on June 30, 2021.

The financial disclosure impacted janata General Insurance shares negatively on the Dhaka bourse as its share price fell 0.33 per cent to Tk 30 on Sunday. The price moved between Tk 28.40 and Tk 64.60 throughout the last one year.

The company has Tk 133.63 crore market capitalizations, Tk 44.39 crore paid-up capitals and Tk 15 crore in surplus reserve.

Janata General Insurance Company Limited got listed with the capital market in 1994.
