Ten firms grab 30% of weekly turnover

The ten most-traded stocks accounted for 29.82 per cent of the weekly market turnover on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) this week.

Beximco topped the turnover chart as it generated a turnover of Tk 210 crore, which was 7.40 per cent of the week’s total turnover, according to the DSE data.

The company’s share closed at Tk 120.7 on Thursday gaining 3.07 per cent from the previous week.

Malek Spinning Mills Limited ranked second in turnover, with shares worth Tk 86.61 crore changing hands. The company’s share price fell 3.23 percent to close at Tk 35.90 on Thursday, accounting for 3.05 percent of the week’s total turnover. 

IPDC Finance Limited secured the third spot with a turnover of Tk 85.87 crore. The company’s share closed at Tk 61.90, gained 7.47 per cent from the previous week. The company accounted for 3.03 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

Fortune Shoes Limited also made its way to the week’s top turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 85.02 crore changing hands. The company’s share unchanged to close at Tk 79.05 on Thursday. Total turnover of the company of this week was unchanged from the previous week.

The turnover of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Limited was Tk 80.53 crore and total turnover of the week was 2.85 per cent. The company’s share price gained 4.97 per cent to close at Tk 73.9 on Thursday.

Bangladesh Shipping Corporation secured the sixth spot with a turnover of Tk 72.42 crore. The company’s share closed at Tk 118.20, gained 8.54 per cent from the previous week. The company accounted for 2.55 per cent of the week’s total turnover.

The turnover of Sonali Paper & Board Mills Limited was Tk 68.02 crore and total turnover of the weeks was 2.40 per cent. The company’s share price lost 2.68 per cent to close at Tk 708.10 on Thursday.
