UCB Stock Brokerage in the market commentary said the Travel and Leisure, Paper and Printing, and IT sectors closed positive while the Services and Real Estate, Ceramics, and Pharmaceutical sectors faced corrections, said UCB Stock Brokerage in its daily market commentary.

EBL Securities, another stockbroker, daily market commentary, said investors rushed to and fro in chasing quick-gaining stocks after booking profits from partial liquidation of their current holdings, helping some large-cap stocks witness corrections.

The market observed a see-saw trend throughout the session as investors were active on both sides of the trading fence while sellers outnumbered buyers due to the profit-taking tendency by a segment of investors in attempt to reshuffle their portfolio, it said.

Moreover, investors’ lack of confidence was evident as they were unable to settle down for sector-specific stocks and instead sought quick gains, said EBL Securities.

Food and allied booked the highest gain of 0.22 per cent followed by engineering, bank, telecommunication, NBFI, fuel and power, and pharmaceutical, it said.

Block trades contributed to 0.6 per cent of the overall market turnover.
