In a bid to encourage ensuring securities compliance, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for the first time introduced awards for market intermediaries.

In line with the move, the stock market regulator gave the ‘Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’ award to 11 market intermediaries for their outstanding performance in 2021.

During a ceremony held Monday at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital, LGRD Minister Md Tazul Islam handed over the awards to the awardees.

BSEC chairman Prof Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, presided over the event.

Island Securities Ltd was sealed the top position in the best stock broker and dealer category for its contribution to service, good governance, and innovation.

In the category, LankaBangla Securities secured the second top position, while the third position winner was Green Delta Securities Limited.

ICB Capital Management Limited, and UCB Investments Limited jointly topped in the merchant bank category.

Shanta Asset Management was awarded the first prize in the asset management category.

Alliance Capital Asset Management Limited and IDLC Asset Management Limited secured the second and third positions respectively in the same category.

The BSEC introduced the award-giving initiative aiming to increase the efficiency of the manpower working in the capital market, increase the quality of services to investors, and promote the development and dynamism of the capital market.
