Bangladesh Lamps Limited declares 27% dividend

Bangladesh Lamps Limited, authorised manufacturer of electric light bulbs, has declared 27 per cent dividend including 20 per cent cash and 7 per cent stock dividend for its shareholders in the fiscal year 2021-22.

The decision was made on Tuesday during a meeting of the board of directors of the company, said a media statement.

The company’s annual general meeting will be held on December 19 and entitlement of the declared dividend will be recorded on November 10.

The company also reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 8.78 for fiscal 2021-22 which was Tk 5.10 in the previous year.

EPS has increased significantly due to higher sales growth in LED segments and optimisation of operating expenses, the company informed.

It also reported Net Asset Value (NAV) per share of Tk 90.99 and net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) of losses Tk 5.52 for the year ended on June 30 which was Tk 95.16 and Tk 8.65 for the same period in the previous year, respectively.

NAV per share has decreased due to reduction of fair value adjustment of the company's investment in shares of various companies while NOCFPS slipped for increasing payments to suppliers, the company explained.
