CSE revises Shariah index

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has reviewed its Shariah-compliant index – CSE Shariah Index (CSI) – on the basis of the performance of the CSE-listed companies.

The new index will come into force from January 22, next, according to a media statement issued by the port city bourse on Sunday.

The port city bourse revises the index twice in a year.

This time, two new companies – Beach Hatchery and Robi Axiata Limited – have been included in the Shariah index.

On The other hand, three companies namely Imam Button Industries Ltd, Shurwid Industries Ltd, and Singer Bangladesh Limited, were excluded from the list.

With the new revision, a total of 131 companies out of the 370 listed securities on the bourse, remain under the CSE Shariah Index.
