City General Insurance declares 10.5% cash dividend for 2022

City General Insurance Company Limited posted a staggering 34 per cent surge in net profit in the year 2022, thanks to an increase in premium income. The insurer’s net profit rose to Tk 15.34 crore last year from Tk 11.45 crore in the previous year.

The company’s earnings also jumped significantly, with posting earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 2.25 for 2022 against Tk 1.68 for the previous year.

In recognition of this solid annual performance, the company’s board declared a 10.5 per cent cash dividend to shareholders for the year 2022, as per a Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) filing published Tuesday.

The company’s earnings increased due to a rise in premium income, the DSE filing read.

The insurer’s net asset value (NAV) per share rose to Tk 18.57 at the end of 2022 from Tk 17.53 for 2021.

Meanwhile, its net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) stood at Tk 5.59 for 2022 rose from Tk 2.75 for the previous year. The company is scheduled to hold its annual general meeting (AGM) on March 30.

It has fixed the record date as March 7 for share splits.

Listed on the bourses in 2007, the company has a paid up capital base of Tk 68 crore with total number of outstanding securities standing at 6.8 crore.
