With exhilarating buyer response, Apex Weaving shines at Heimtextil 2023

Apex Weaving and Finishing Mills, a local maker of textile products, received huge responses from global buyers at the Heimtextil 2023, a top-rated trade fair showcasing innovations and trends in interior textiles and interior designs.

With 2,400 exhibitors from over 120 countries, Heimtextil 2023 was recently organised by Messe Frankfurt, a global organiser of trade fairs, congresses, and events. Apex Weaving, a company listed on the SME board of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), attended the event to display their exclusive and top-quality home furnishing products this year.

The company which uses in-house woven fabrics in cent per cent cotton and polyester cotton in different counts and in prints and plain to meet customer demand received a massive response from global buyers at the trade fair.

Every participant had to maintain some guidelines at the fair such as displaying samples well to let buyers know the product quality; informing buyers of the dates and the booth location, and serving samples in advance in case of customer requests, an official of Apex Weaving said.

The locally grown firm showcased a wide array of products at the fair which includes duvet covers with pillowcases, bedding sheets, cushion covers, curtains, kitchen items, and towels.

Talking to The Business Post, Miss Felly, marketing (merchandising) manager of Apex Weaving & Fishing Mills said, “Participation in the trade fair was crucial for Bangladesh’s weaving and finishing industry. It provides scopes for a company to promote their products and meet with both potential and existing buyers.”

“The trade fair also helps in growing the business and forming new business contacts,” she added.

“This year, Apex Weaving reported a seamless participation experience and received positive feedback from global buyers,” she continued.

It is a yearly event that brings in beneficial business contacts and new orders.  According to Miss Felly, the response from foreign buyers was remarkably exhilarating for them.

The company earlier in 2020 had faced a slow response due to the Covid-19 pandemic blues.

But, with buyers slowly getting back on track, the company forecasts exponential business growth in the future.

Incorporated in 1996, Apex Weaving and Finishing Mills Ltd (AWFML) exports home furnishings to the European and North American markets.

The cent-per-cent export-oriented composite textile mill offers wide-width weaving, in-house printing, in-house dyeing, in-house finishing, and confectionary units from within a single compound.

Currently, it has a daily production capacity of 120,000 meters of 100 per cent cotton and polycotton blends (printed and dyed).

Listed on the DSE’s SME platform in 2021, the company has a paid-up capital of Tk 38.85 crore.
