The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) organised an awareness training programme on commodity derivatives for its trading right entitlement certificate (TREC) representatives on Thursday.
The programme was organised at the headquarters of the Bangladesh Securities And Exchange Commission (BSEC) in the capital, with 50 participants from several TREC organisations joining the training session, said a media statement.
Asif Ibrahim, chairman of the CSE, presided over the programme, while Md Saifur Rahman, executive director of the BSEC, attended there as a special guest. Faisal Hooda, deputy manager of the port city bourse, conducted the training session.
While addressing the event, Md Saifur Rahman lauded CSE’s efforts for the development of the country’s capital market, and underscored the need for an introduction of commodity derivatives for the market’s further expansion.
Speaking at the programme, Asif Ibrahim appreciated the BSEC’s initiatives for the development of the country’s capital market, including the permission given to the CSE to establish a commodity exchange market.
CSE’s Acting Managing Director Md Golam Farooq said they would continue such training sessions on commodity derivatives which will help the TREC representatives gain a comprehensive knowledge about the commodity exchange market.
