Former vice chairman and director of Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd, Khwaja Ghulam Rasul has passed away on March 12, 2023 at his residence in Gulshan, Dhaka at the age of 67.
He had been suffering from cancer for a long time. Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd is saddened to announce his passing, said a press realease.
Born in 1956 in Sirajganj district, Ghulam Rasul was a member of DSE since 1980. He served as the Vice President from 2002 to 2003, and then from 2005 to 2008 and 2010. He also served as a Councilor from 2000 to 2001. He was elected as the shareholder director of demutualized DSE on February 13, 2014. He was the Managing Director of Khwaja Equity Services Limited.
Professor Hafiz Md Hasan Babu, chairman of DSE and acting managing director M Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
The capital market journalists’ forum (CMJF) President Ziaur Rahman and General Secretary Abu Ali expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family of Khwaja Ghulam Rasul.
The first Janaza was held on March 12 at 3:30 PM at Azad Mosque in Gulshan, followed by the second Janaza at Enayetpur in Sirajganj where the deceased was then buried.
Khwaja Ghulam Rasul will be remembered for his contributions to the development of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, and his passing is a great loss to the financial community.
